TUAA Officers

TUAA Parliament

Composed of representatives of each school and college alumni association, regional alumni representatives, shared interest societies, faculty and students, the Temple University Alumni Association (TUAA) Parliament serves as a voice for every one of Temple’s more than 370,000 alumni living across the country and around the world. From supporting innovative construction projects to bolstering initiatives to enrich alumni programming, the board exists to foster closer relationships between alumni and the university.

Christopher Borden, FOX ’03

President
Christopher Borden, FOX ’08, most recently served as TUAA vice president of external affairs and has previously served as TUAA treasurer and chaired the TUAA Budget and Investments Committee. He’s managing director and financial advisor with Stedmark Partners at Janney Montgomery Scott and an adjunct professor at the Temple College of Engineering. Chris is a member of the Temple Owl Club and a football and basketball season ticket holder.

Kia Johnson, KLN ’86

Vice President, University Partnership

Kia Johnson, KLN ’86, most recently served as TUAA vice president of operations. She is a producer at Reuters News Agency in Washington, D.C. Kia was formerly a TUAA director at-large and was co-chair of the TUAA’s inaugural DEI Task Force. Kia’s an active member of the D.C. Regional Alumni Network. As a student, she was a member of the varsity women’s basketball team and anchor on WRTI Radio. An active Owl Club member, Kia is a supporter of Temple football and basketball. She’s the parent of a Temple alum and part of a multigenerational Temple family.

Saadiq Stewart, CPH ’12

Vice President, Community Affairs

Saadiq Stewart, CPH ’12, is a former TUAA director at-large and active member of the Greater Philadelphia Regional Alumni Network. He served on the TUAA’s Grants and Awards, and Budget and Investments committees. He is project manager at the BFW Group.  As a student, he was a member of the Owls Athletic Training Society and served on the Main Campus Program Board and NAACP Collegiate Branch.

Giacomo Cesareo, FOX ’06

Vice President, Operations

Giacomo “Jack” Cesareo, FOX ’06, most recently served as TUAA treasurer. He is head of administration at CI&T, providing business impact through scalable digital solutions. He was a TUAA director at-large and served as president of the Temple Young Alumni Association and the Fox School of Business Alumni Association. As a student, he was a member of the Diamond Marching Band and participated in the Temple Study Abroad Program, spending a year in Rome and Paris.

Harris Chernow, FOX ’85, LAW ’88

Secretary

Harris Chernow, FOX ’85, LAW ’88, most recently served as TUAA co-counsel, and is a two-time Temple Owl completing his studies at the Fox School of Business and Beasley School of Law. He is a business and franchise lawyer and partner at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP. A member of the Owl Club Executive Committee, Harris has served twice as its president. He has also served the TUAA in various capacities: as a director at-large, on various TUAA committees and as an alumni representative to Temple Trustee committees.

Sidney Johnson, FOX ’15, '24

Counsel

Two-time Temple Owl Sidney Johnson, FOX ’15, ’24, is a graduate of the Fox Executive MBA program. He is a former Fox School of Business Alumni Association president and served as chair of the TUAA’s School and College Alumni Association President’s Committee and on its Executive Committee. He is founder and president of NumbersByDesign, LLC, advising companies on strategies to build sound financial plans and scalable accounting structure.

Jason Brown, KLN ’92

Immediate past president of the Temple University Owl Club, Jason Brown is regional vice president with Prudential Annuities working with financial professionals to provide education on the annuity solutions available to assist their clients in meeting their income goals. Jason is a longtime football and basketball season ticket holder and currently participates in a life-preparedness mentoring program for student-athletes.

Beth Davis, KLN ’10

A current TUAA director at-large, Beth Davis is a college counselor at the Salesianum School. She has served the TUAA in several capacities including as the Greater Philadelphia Regional Alumni Network chair and on the TUAA Assessment Task Force and Nominating Committee. Beth was an active student serving as an Owl Ambassador, Templar Yearbook editor-in-chief, and on Temple Student Government, Main Campus Program Board and Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority.

Joan Hankins, FOX ’04

Joan Hankins is a current TUAA director at-large and serves as the director of admissions at the Temple School of Pharmacy. She serves as the advisor for the Temple University Chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association. Joan is an active member of the Temple 20 Year Club Board of Governors and also served as its vice president and secretary. She serves on the TUAA Grants and Awards Committee.

Jackie Hopkins, KLN ’10

Jackie has been a Klein Alumni Association Board member since 2009, having served as president, secretary and lead for Klein’s Homecoming tailgate party. As a student she served on Temple Student Government, the Temple Newman Center and Habitat for Humanity, and attended the 2008 London Study Abroad Program. She is employed as executive director, university marketing and communications at Drexel University.

Zachary James, STH ’08

Zack James, a current TUAA director at-large, is an entrepreneur, and the chief executive officer at Rebel Hill Consulting, a business development consulting firm. In this capacity, he developed a popular media platform for which he was nominated for an Emmy (MyNEWPhilly.com). Zack served on the STH Alumni Association Board and is its Minority Alumni Coalition co-founder. He has conducted networking training sessions for STH and Fox classes. He received the Gallery of Success Award in 2024.

Merideth Ketterer, LAW ’19

Two-time alum Merideth Ketterer is a former Temple Young Alumni Association president and director at-large. She was a Temple University New Student Convocation speaker. As a student she participated in Temple Student Government as director of academic affairs and promotions manager of internal affairs; Delta Phi Epsilon, Delta Nu Chapter as vice president of academic affairs; and in the Office of Alumni Relations as a social media intern. She is employed by Heckscher, Teillon, Terrill & Sager, P.C., an estate and tax planning and fiduciary-related services firm.

Binh Nguyen, KLN ’17

Binh Nguyen, senior director of communications at Visit Philadelphia, is a current TUAA director at-large, advocating on TUAA’s behalf via social media. She served on the Temple University Young Alumni Association as a director at-large and on the Alumni Trustee Student Affairs Committee. As a student, Binh served on Temple Student Government as vice president of external affairs and was the Temple Class of 2017 Commencement speaker. Binh recently received the Temple 30 Under 30 Award.

Dorsey Spencer, STH ’07

Dorsey Spencer is dean of students at Colgate University and completing a term as president of the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management Alumni Association. He received the Temple Gallery of Success Award in 2021. He earned his PhD in higher education administration at Florida State University. He received the NASPA African American Knowledge Community Stellar 50 in 2023.

Andrea Swan, KLN ’98, CLA ’11, EDU 18

Andrea Swan is a current TUAA director at-large and community and neighborhood affairs director in Temple’s division of Community Affairs and Engagement, providing volunteerism in the Temple community, hosting and partnering with community organizations, and providing direct services to our Temple neighbors. She is a three-time Temple Owl, with degrees from Klein College, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Education and Human Development. She serves as an alumni trustee on the Academic Affairs, Student Success and Diversity committees.

Dr. Jessica Thomas, FOX ’11, EDU ’14, ’21

Dr. Jessica Reed-Thomas, a first-gen college graduate from Alaska, is an educator, school leader, and educational consultant who resides in Philadelphia. A recipient of the Bill & Melinda Gates Scholarship, she earned three degrees from Temple University and holds certifications in special education, business education and technology, and instructional technology. With a commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices, she champions underserved students and helps institutions create inclusive, psychologically safe environments. A wife and mother of five, she is a community activist, garden educator, author and co-founder of 5 Tribe Vending, a family-owned business supporting workforce development for youth.
