Owls are everywhere! While it isn’t possible to have formal Regional Networks everywhere, we strive to ensure all alumni feel connected and engaged with Temple. But we can’t do it alone. We’re looking for alumni who are passionate about Temple and its mission and want to get involved in some way, but want a more flexible, less structured volunteer role. If this sounds like you, our Regional Volunteer Program has you covered!
The main purpose of the Regional Volunteer Program is to build a wide pool of contacts and representatives ready and able to be called upon, as their time and interest allow, to represent Temple and serve as a resource for the Alumni Relations office as well as our campus partners (Admissions, Athletics and the schools/colleges).
Below you will find the role and responsibilities for regional volunteers. We hope you consider signing up and helping to propel Temple’s mission forward.
Role & Responsibilities
Regional volunteers will help engage area alumni by
- staying up to date on campus news and happenings as to be a source of knowledge when meeting local alumni.
- sharing Temple-related news, initiative updates and event promotion on personal social pages, such as sharing posts from the Temple University Alumni Association, Advancement Engagement and Alumni Relations.
- acting as a university-directed contact for alumni or recent grads who plan to live and work in your respective area.
- recommending notable* alumni to the Temple University Alumni Association (TUAA) for alumni spotlights or to have their alumni-owned businesses added to the directory.
*“Notable” is subjective and varies: doing something interesting within their community, with their Temple degree, in the global community. If you think it is notable, send the information to your Regional Network staff liaison and we will take it from there.
All volunteers are strongly encouraged to make an annual gift to any Temple University fund. There is a wide range of funds to choose from, from research, helping students in need and campus development, to basic needs like keeping the doors open and the lights on, and more. No university can survive without proud alumni like you contributing. Plus, donations are tax-deductible!
