What’s even better is that a portion of the Temple license plate fee directly benefits Advancement Engagement by supporting alumni programming. When you purchase a Temple license plate, you’re not only showing your Temple spirit, but also paying it forward to your alma mater.

Application Fees by State

• Pennsylvania: $84 or $220
  Regular numbered series plate: $34 (application fee) + $6 (PCI fee) and a $44 fee to Temple for a total of $84.
  Personalized Temple vanity plates: $34 + $136 (application fee) + $6 (PCI fee) plus a $44 fee to Temple for a total of $220. Request a special organizational plate application from our office at [click-for-email]. Please note: Personalized Pennsylvania plates require a 10–12-week processing time.
• Delaware: $25
  Includes a $10 DMV fee and a $15 fee to support Temple alumni programming.
• Maryland: $55
  Includes a $30 DMV fee and a $25 fee to support Temple alumni programming.
• New Jersey: $75
  Includes a $50 DMV fee and a $25 fee to support Temple alumni programming.

Don’t live in one of these states? If you live in states where Temple license plates are unavailable, you can still show off your Temple pride by purchasing a license plate frame from the Temple University Bookstore. Also, make sure to update your contact information so you can be the first to know when Temple license plates are available for additional states.

Application Process

If you are interested in purchasing a Temple license plate, you must first fill out a License Plate Request Form.

Once the online form is completed and submitted, you will receive a paper application for a Temple license plate within one to two weeks.

You must then return the completed paper application to Advancement Engagement, which is required to submit it on an individual’s behalf to the Department of Motor Vehicles in their home state. The departments of motor vehicles participating in this program will not accept applications directly from individuals.

You should expect to receive your Temple license plate between eight (8) and ten (10) weeks from the date your application is received by the Department of Motor Vehicles in your home state.
