Temple Owls continue to confront significant challenges in today’s environment, marked by ongoing societal shifts and economic uncertainties. Many students grapple with financial hardships, struggling to afford necessities such as reliable internet, groceries and medication. Others are extremely close to graduating but can’t cover tuition in their final semesters. Then there are Owls who worry about the long-term implications of taking on additional loans in order to pay for college.

University General Student Support Funds

Dr. Theresa Powell Student Emergency Aid Fund

The Dr. Theresa Powell Student Emergency Aid Fund provides essential short-term financial assistance to students facing unexpected or challenging circumstances. Designed to help students navigate unforeseen financial burdens, the fund supports those in urgent need, enabling them to focus on their education and well-being. By offering timely aid for unique situations, this fund empowers students to overcome obstacles and continue their journey toward academic success and personal growth.

Broad Street Finish Line

The Broad Street Finish Line Scholarship is all about creating opportunity for students while they’re on campus. In 2019, Temple refocused two existing scholarship funds to provide support and access for those in need, with two distinct goals in mind: to extend the possibility of a superlative Temple education to first-generation students from Philadelphia and abroad, and to provide a lifeline for Owls experiencing a tuition gap in their final years of college. Your donation to the Broad Street Finish Line is critical to keeping the Temple student body both diverse and on track to graduate without additional debt.

General Scholarship Fund

The General Scholarship Fund provides a flexible method of extending financial awards to Temple students. Temple University was founded on the idea that diversity and accessibility are key to the very best learning experiences, and the General Scholarship Fund reduces financial barriers for promising students who may not have the means to fully pay for tuition. This fund is critical to attracting and retaining the brightest minds out there.
