Alumni Card

Temple University Alumni Cards are an official form of alumni photo identification while on Main Campus and serve as a keepsake of your Temple degree. Please note: Unlike student ID cards, Alumni Cards do not provide swipe or tap access to campus buildings. Limited access to recreation facilities may be granted with a valid Campus Recreation membership (see below). For entry to all other campus buildings, please contact the department you wish to visit directly.

Standard Process: Alumni cards may be requested online and picked up in person. To start the process, you will need to set up your AccessNet Account by completing
Alumni Card and Account Request Form. This verifies your Temple University alumni status. Following this submission, you will be instructed via email to pick up your alumni card at the Owl Card Office, Welcome Center/Tech Center, Suite 106, 12th Street and Montgomery Avenue, Main Campus. Their office is open 8:30 to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

If you are unable to come to Main Campus to pick up your card, it can be mailed to your home. After receiving notification of your account’s approval, you may email a photo to idcard@temple.edu along with your full name and TUid. Photos must follow guidelines listed here.

In-Person Alumni Card Requests: Due to limited in-person staffing times in the Sullivan Hall Alumni Office, 1330 Polett Walk, Main Campus, an appointment is required to complete this approval process in person. Please email  or call 215-204-7521 to request an in-person appointment.

If you have additional questions, please contact us via phone at 215-204-7521 or email at

Gym Membership

Temple alumni (defined as a graduate of Temple University) may purchase recreation access for use of the recreational facilities during informal recreation hours. After obtaining an Alumni card, alumni MUST go to the Campus Recreation Office, 1800 N. Broad St., Suite 303, Pearson and McGonigle Halls to process payment for access. Payments may be made via cash (exact change only), check or money order (made payable to Temple University), or credit card.

For Temple Alumni wishing to use the Ambler Campus recreational facilities, alumni must visit the Ambler Campus Administration Building located on Meetinghouse Road across from Parking Lot 1 and present a Temple University Alumni Association Card and valid picture ID to verify alumni status. Temple Ambler Campus accepts checks and credit cards for alumni membership payment. Checks must be made payable to Temple University.  NO CASH TRANSACTIONS are accepted.

After payment is processed, Campus Recreation will grant building access to the following buildings: Pearson/McGonigle Hall, IBC Student Recreation Center and Aramark STAR Complex.  Alumni will tap their OWLcard at the main entrance security desk for these buildings, and then tap/swipe again at the recreation center front desk to confirm recreation access.  Access will remain valid through the end of your purchased term of membership.

Cardholders have access to recreational facilities on Main Campus, as well as HSC and Ambler recreational facilities. Structured programs, including Intramurals, Sports Clubs, group fitness and guest pass privileges, are NOT available to alumni.
